PiFi by PIMCO
PiFi is a proprietary web application developed by PIMCO’s engineering team to support financial analysts in evaluating and managing portfolio allocations across alternative investments. Designed for internal use, PiFi consolidates complex data from multiple asset classes—such as private equity, real estate, and hedge funds—into a unified platform for performance analysis and risk assessment.
The tool enables analysts to explore and compare investment strategies, visualize key performance metrics, and generate detailed, report-style outputs that can be easily shared across teams. My role focused on enhancing the user experience and interface design to streamline workflows, reduce cognitive load, and ensure the application was both powerful and intuitive for data-driven decision-making.

Default interface design
My primary task was to redesign the PiFi interface and implement enhancements based on input from both end users and the engineering team. A key objective was to establish a cohesive, intuitive design system that improved usability and ensured consistency across the application. With large volumes of complex data displayed on screen, it was critical to enhance visual clarity through accessible color choices, thoughtful hierarchy, and scalable layouts. The redesigned interface not only made it easier for users to navigate and interpret key data points, but also supported long-term scalability as new functionality and datasets are introduced.
